7 Ways to Feel Warm and Cozy this Season

Hey there!

As I was getting into my own fall state of mind this year, I realized the things I was doing made a huge impact on the overall atmosphere of my house (and mood) - wink wink! Grab a latte and keep reading for some easy ways to fall-ify your home today.

CHANGE OUT YOUR SCENTS

Swap your essential oils, candles and even soap pumps to put fall back in the air. The smell of fresh apple pie or pumpkin does wonders to make your home feel cozy, warm and inviting!

SWITCH UP YOUR COLOUR PALETTE

Trade in bright summer decor for fall shades such as orange, burgundy, russet red, bronze, gold, and deep greens. These colours mirror the ones outside and will help you bring that same comfort to your living room or bedrooms!

ADD MORE LAYERS FOR WARMTH

Throw blankets galore! Add them in baskets and more layers on your bed or furniture. This will create an inviting feel for family and friends to curl up with a book or a coffee.

SWAP YOUR FLORAL DECOR/STEMS

Get inspired by nature- actually switch from tulips to mums. The front entrance is a great place to start- add some dried pampas grass and wooden crates. You can add some branches and pinecones as well!

WHIP UP SOME HARDY MEALS

Think chili, lasagna, stew and spaghetti! Spread that comforting smell through out the house. You can even get the kids involved and bake some pumpkin bread or apple crumble. Smells help to trigger memories and this a great way to transition into fall mode. Don’t forget to freeze some for later!

STOCK UP ON CHAI AND PUMPKIN

Scents and snacks… don’t forget about tea and coffee too. Add a little pumpkin creamer to your coffee for an instant fall type of morning!

GET EXCITED ABOUT YOUR FALL WARDROBE

‘Tis the season of layers, layers and more layers! Swap out summer items you’re done with for the season to make way for your comfy sweaters. Scarves are also a great way to add some fall vibes to your wardrobe! Start thinking about mixing textures and maybe even branch out to try some new colours this season that you wouldn’t normally wear.

Thanks for checking out my blog post and have fun transitioning into fall this season!
